Born and raised in Visby, Gotland, from his teens in Stockholm. His russian language studies led him to the balalaikamusic. One of the founders and still a member of Orientexpressen. Worked as a fulltime musician for many years, now a doctor in ethnology. Kept up the gotlandic folk music by himself til he joined Gunnfjauns in 1990. Moved back to Visby in 1995.
