Two of Ireland's foremost traditional musicians, two Swedish musicians from
the group Quilty and a Swedish bass player in a hot meeting!
A spectacular five-piece band who have their own interpretation of Irish
traditional music. Driving Irish instrumental music as well as ballads and
stories from the vast store of Irish and Scottish songs.
Eitre have played together since January 2003 and have made four tours of
Sweden until autumn 2004. “The Coming Of Spring” is Eitre´s debut-album.
The band:
Dag Westling – guitar, vocal, five string banjo
Esbjörn Hazelius – fiddle, cittern, vocal
Well known from the group Quilty, who have toured Sweden playing Irish music
for ten years doing concerts, choir projects, orchestral projects and
workshops.
Fredrik Bengtsson - acustic bassgitarr, double-bass, is a well-known
Swedish bass player with his roots in jazz and Swedish traditional music.
Kevin Ryan – timber flute
Marco Pollier – uilleann pipes (irish bag-pipes)
Both well established musicians in Ireland, strongly rooted in the
traditions of County Clare in western Ireland.
